How God Builds an Extraordinary Mind from Human Weakness

Terminologies: Atman/Self- Soul , Ishwara/Bhagwan- God

Lesson Number 1
It is important to realise that the Atman of Ishwara and your Atman is the same.
When you accept that, then you can have the same mind as Ishwara.
It is the easiest way to make your mind extraordinary.

The difference between us and Ishwara is because of Upadhi.
Upadhi is that which covers the Atman and makes it appear as something else.
At this very moment, the Atman appears as the body and the mind — solely due to the covering of Maya.

So consider Upadhi as a power of Maya that covers the Atman and makes it appear as something else.
Our job is to realise that there is a covering — not to debate endlessly about why it exists, which can be known — but to be more mature and try to remind ourselves to remove the covering so we save many decades of learning.

Ishwara’s Upadhi is Maya — which is pure and allows Him to create the whole world.
Our Upadhi is Avidya(ignorance of getting attached to the world because of not knowing Maya) — which is impure, hides the Atman, and traps us in our little world of pain, pleasure, and delusion — within the greater world of Ishwara.

Consider an example:
It is like an actor playing the role of a king and a servant.
The actor is the same in both cases, but because the roles are different — because of the script — one behaves like a servant throughout the movie, and the other acts like a king.
The person is the same.

In the same way, the Atman is the same in you and Ishwara.
But the Upadhi — in this case, the script — makes one person’s mind act like a servant and another's like a king for a whole life.

Why am I telling you all this?

So you realise that unless you accept the Atman of Ishwara and your Atman as the same, you will not make progress in spirituality — even after six decades of intense meditation.
These are direct shortcuts.

Bhagwan Himself says this.
And when you accept it, you receive the benefit of having the mind of Ishwara.

Let’s get to work.
First, read this carefully and then visualise it every day for a few minutes.

The scene begins with Vishnu resting on the ocean of Sheer Sagar (the ocean of milk).
He opens His eyes…

The moment He opens His eyes, the five elements — Space, Air, Fire, Earth, and Water — appear. They are called Panchmahabhutas.
Just by God's Sankalp (intention), by simply opening His eyes, the five elements are born.

Then Bhagwan smiles.
As He smiles, these five elements — which arise from the Tamas element of Prakriti — begin to mix with Sattvic and Rajas.
Each element is now mixed in our body, and the entire world begins to manifest.

If time permits, I will walk you through this process. It is a fascinating one.

But for now, understand this:
In us, the five elements — space, air, fire, earth, and water — are mixed.
In nature, they are not.

That’s why we feel thirsty — because of the water element inside us — and to satisfy it, there is water outside.
Same for food. Same for breath.

Which means:
All we are doing all day is the elements within us interacting with the elements outside.
Maya is running the whole show — and using us to get things done.

These elements come from Tamas, Rajas, and Sattva.
Your mind, intellect, body, and senses are made up of the five elements — and those five are composed of Maya’s three gunas.

So Maya runs the show using these three modes — and Ishwara controls Maya.

In short, Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas are interacting with themselves inside us and generating all our thoughts, emotions, and experiences — based on our karma.

Even without you, the whole thing would have worked. In most cases, we are just an instrument for Maya to run its show.

When you are angry at someone, it is just one element of Rajas colliding with another element of Rajas within you. They are rising attacking each other and falling but because of ignorance one doesn't know the whole game of Maya and suffers

We will look at it in detail later, but if you study Maya, you will be able to stop emotions with ease — because you will not become a participant in bad karma and can destroy it within yourself.

So God smiles — and the entire universe with all its living beings is created.
Then Bhagwan closes His eyes to rest.
And in that moment, Pralay happens — the great dissolution.
4.32 billion years end.

So God opens His eyes… smiles… closes them…
And lifetimes of karma get exhausted.

I will not go into further detail here. But understand this:
Bhagwan does all this for us — so we can exhaust our karma and attain liberation.

Within Maya, the cycles of waking, dreaming, and deep sleep continue…
This has no beginning — but it ends the moment your ignorance about creation ends.

Where do we falter?

We don’t realise that waking, dreaming, and deep sleep are creations of Maya.
We mistake them as real because we experience pain, pleasure, and delusion within them daily.

And because of this error — we retain every experience, while God retains nothing.
He goes to sleep for 4.32 billion years — unbothered — because He knows He is the Atman, not the projection of Maya.

He wants you to know this.

Sattvic, Rajas, and Tamas are interacting within you and causing all pain, pleasure, and delusion.
You and the people you meet are just instruments…
You can know this slowly when you get really committed. But first, accept:

The Atman of Ishwara and your Atman are the same — even if your feelings don’t agree.

The purpose of Knowledge is not to know the Atman —
It is to remove the false coverings that are not the Self.
We will go deeper into these coverings in future lessons.

The Car Delusion

Let me give you an example:

Imagine you’ve just bought a brand-new car.
It’s sleek, shiny, perfect. You enter the car and start driving it proudly through the streets.

Then one day, someone scratches it.
You feel angry — as if they scratched you.

Another day, someone praises it.
You feel proud — as if you were being complimented.

Later, someone mocks it — calls it outdated or cheap.
You feel hurt — as if you were being insulted.

Why?

Because you forgot that you are the owner of the car — not the knower of the car.
There’s a huge difference.

The owner of the car can easily separate himself from the car whenever he wants.
He may feel disturbed for a moment, but nothing sticks.
He knows he is separate.

With a little bit of discrimination, he can even separate himself from the pain of ownership
by realising that the only thing he truly owns is the Self.

He doesn’t carry its dents in his heart, or its praises in his ego.
Thoughts of pain may appear and disappear — but they don’t bind him.
He remains free.

But the knower of the car — the one who mentally and emotionally enters into it —
cannot separate himself from the car and is bound.
He becomes the car and is trapped.

And when that happens, the scratches hurt.
The praise inflates.
The insults burn.

Not because the car is real —
but because the knower has merged with the object.

This is Avidya — ignorance.

You have superimposed the qualities of the car onto your soul.
And in the exact same way, you superimpose the qualities of the body and mind onto the Atman —
and then wonder why you suffer.

We will go into great detail in future classes on the idea of the knower,
which is central in Vedanta to remove all bondage from you.

The Mind Trap

The same delusion happens with the body and the mind.

The mind is restless by nature.
It wanders, reacts, remembers, judges.
It goes through anger, frustration, happiness, joy, sadness…
And the more you live inside this mind, the more you begin to think you are it.

But you are not.

If you sit in a dark room long enough, you start believing you are the darkness.
Not because it’s true — but because you’ve forgotten the light.

Stay in any identity long enough, and it begins to define you.
The beggar begins to believe he is a beggar.
The king believes he was born to rule.
But neither is true.
They just stayed in that costume too long.

This is the tragedy of identification.

You start thinking you are your story — your success, your failure, your image, your label.
But all of it is a lie told by Maya.

And here’s the shock:

You can close your eyes — and in less than four seconds, disappear not just from this lifetime’s problems…
but from many lifetimes of delusion.

That is the kind of brainwash you must do —
Not with force — but with fire.

A fire that declares:
"I am not the knower of failure.
I am not the knower of memory.
I am not the knower of this body, or the knower of this name."

That is all you have to do. If you dont do it you will suffer. You can try all the methods they will work in some cases but the one that works always is this.. Only when the knower disappears will you get freedom.... Let it come back again but when it comes back it will not bind you because you can send it packing. You know what creates all trouble now...

Because if you’ve failed in a relationship, or in business, or in an exam, or in your work — you start thinking that is what you are.

No.

They are sheaths — coverings of the knower.
But they are not your Self.
Your Self is prior to all knowing.

If you forget your Atman, your mind becomes small, reactive, ordinary — even if the world calls you great.
But when you remember the Atman —

You remember:

You are Sat-Chit-Ananda.
You are Nitya, Shuddha, Buddha, Mukta —
That happiness which is 100% free of sorrow.
Act like Ishwara.

He smiles, and the world is created.
He closes His eyes, and it dissolves.

You have that same power — hidden beneath a single false idea.
Get it right in your mind — and lifetimes of bondage can end in an instant.

P.S. The Circle on the Blank Page Revelation exercise

Visualise a blank page.

Now draw one circle and call it Pleasure — write three of your top pleasures inside it.
Draw another and call it Pain — write three of your biggest pains.

Finally, draw a third called Delusion (Moha) — and note three of your strongest attachments, infatuations, or illusions.

Now look again — the page is no longer blank.

It’s filled with circles, each believing it exists independently.

But in truth, every circle exists only because of the page.

If there were no page, there would be no circles — yet the page can exist without them.

So ask yourself:

Will you identify with the page or with the circle?

If you live in the circle of pleasure, you’ll crave more pleasure.

If you fall into the circle of pain, you’ll try to escape it — usually straight into pleasure again.
And what keeps you swinging between them? The delusionary circle called Moha.

But the page — your true Self — is untouched by all three.

It is Nitya, Shuddha, Buddha, Mukta — eternal, pure, awakened, and free.

As long as you identify with the circles, you will keep jumping from one knower to another — never at rest.

But the moment you shift your identification to the page, the Self, everything changes.

Even in intense pain, the attachment dissolves the instant you realise the identity of the Self.

For the Self, by its very nature (Swaroop), is Asanga — unattached to pleasure, pain, and delusion.

Most people think detachment requires effort or practice.

It doesn’t. You only need to change your identification.

Get this one truth right — and you’ll save millions of hours of meditation.

Lesson Number 2: The Billion Dollar Secret: How to Recognise and Remove the Knower

In reality, if we live just one day in this world with realisation, we can understand the entire play of Maya and become free — if we commit to studying Maya.

It is the same sunrise… the same waking state… the same dream state… the same deep sleep… and the same Atman.

Only karma is changing — and we feel as if something is changing.

This karma is exhausting itself, but as it does, it brings pain, pleasure, or delusion.
And we become the knower, doer, and experiencer of it.

So let’s study the knower more clearly, so it becomes easy for you to identify it — and remove it.

The Example of Patel

Shankaracharya gives the example of a father named Patel who is having trouble with his daughter.

The first question he asks is:
Why is the father having trouble?

It’s because the responsibility of being a father has come onto his shoulders.

How did this responsibility come?
Because Patel got married.

Before he married, did he have the responsibility of parenting?
No.

So Patel existed before marriage… and the same Patel exists now, after marriage, as the father of his daughter.

All the responsibilities called Dharma, the rights and wrongs, and the hundred million emotions of the father are now superimposed on Self of Patel.

Why?
Because he became the knower of the idea:
“I am the father.”

The Superimposition of Identity

Now listen carefully.

This knower — “I am the father” — is superimposed on him.

And he can remove it anytime.
Because common sense tells you this:

Patel existed before marriage.
Patel exists after marriage.
So the thought “I am the father” is only a superimposition on the Self of Patel.

This is the billion-dollar secret to realise.

There is no philosophy here.

Shankaracharya brings this point to highlight how the knower is the hidden covering which we can remove and get rid of suffering.

The knower will come back but the bondage will reduce by 75%. That is the idea

You can remove the thought “I am the father” in 4 seconds — if you just realise that it is something placed on top of the Self, like a shirt or a dress.

The Three Layers You Must See

Now listen carefully.

There are three things you must understand. They are so fundamental — yet 99.99% of even advanced seekers don’t get them.

So pay close attention.

  • All thoughts and feelings that come to Patel are called Vikṣepa — disturbances further superimposed on the knower:
    “I am the father.”
  • Without this knower, “I am the father,” not even a single thought about that relationship would arise.
    Do you agree?
  • The knower, “I am the father,” is the Avarana — the invisible covering caused by the Tamas of Maya that hides the Atman.

So here is the structure you need to understand:

  • There are thoughts and feelings = Vikṣepa
  • There is the knower = Avarana
  • And below that, there is the Atman

These three are always present. Then there is the world outside.

What You Have to Do

The moment you get any thought, feeling, or experience — good or bad — immediately identify the knower.

Your job is to get to the Avarana.

If there is any experience, there is a covering.
If there is a covering, there is a knower behind it.
And if you can catch the knower — you are done.

This is more important than even realising the Atman.

Why?

Because the Atman is omnipresent.
And the only purpose of the covering is to reveal the Atman.

You cannot realise the Atman without passing through the covering.
That’s the billion-dollar secret.

The Real Practice

So when harsh thoughts or hurtful feelings arise —
Train yourself to hunt for the Avarana, the covering, the knower.

If you can do this, you deserve a Nobel Prize in Spirituality.

Most seekers — even after 50 years — cannot do this.

We use the Avarana to reach the Atman

This knowledge is direct.
Like brushing your teeth.
You just need to read it again and again. And if you’re committed, it will happen automatically.

Once you reach the Avarana, you’ll remember that the covering exists only to reveal the Atman.

Two Choices from God

Bhagwan gives you two choices:

He says:

“I gave you the knowledge of the covering so that you could realise the Atman.”

You can either:

  • Use the covering to get involved in thoughts and feelings and waste your life, or
  • Use the covering to realise the Atman and become free

The choice is yours.

The Example of a Wife in Pain

“My husband is troubling me.”

This can only be said if you have already accepted:

“I am the wife of my husband.”

Here, the pain is the known, and “I am the wife” is the Upadhi(covering) — the knower, a role superimposed on the Atman.

The pain is felt through the Upadhi — but it never touches the Atman.

The Atman remains the Sākṣī — untouched, unaffected, and forever free.

Without an Upadhi, no pleasure or pain is possible.
But even when they arise, they never touch the Self.

The one who is hurt is the knower of “I am the wife” — not the Self of the woman.

That’s the billion-dollar secret.

The woman is the Self.
But because she thinks “I am the wife,” she superimposes that identity on her Self — and then suffers.

In deep sleep, when she forgets “I am the wife,” she becomes magically free.
So it proves the woman, as the Self, is always the same.

But as long as the knower “I am the wife” appears, she will swing between pain and pleasure.

If she recognises the knower and removes it in the waking state, she is free.

As simple as that.

You can solve the most complex problem in your life — if you realise Upadhi(covering)

Final Summary: The Atman vs. the Knower

  • The Atman without Upadhi (false knower) is called the Sākṣī — the eternal witness.
It is not a person, but Sat-Chit-Ananda — pure existence, pure consciousness, pure bliss.
  • The Atman with Upadhi is called the Jiva — the bound soul.
The knower, the experiencer, the doer — all arise only because of Upadhi.

Unless you recognise the Upadhi and renounce it, you will never be free — not from the problem, nor from the knower of the problem.

Remember:
Pain, pleasure, or delusion — these are real only for the Upadhi, not for the Atman.

From birth to death, the Atman is covered by Upadhi.

We wear many hats: father, mother, son, daughter, friend, employer, employee, citizen…

These roles bring pleasure, pain, and delusion.
But they affect only the Upadhi — not the Atman.

Every time you get a thought, feeling, or experience —
If you remember the covering, the knower — you are doing what the greatest sages achieved after many years of penance.

This knowledge is not for the Atman. The Atman is ever-free.

This knowledge is for your mind, which is still doubtful.
We are training the mind to discriminate.

You want to think and feel?
Now train yourself to discriminate, reach the knower, dissolve the knower, and realise the Atman.

That is true freedom.
Few more examples in the chart below

P.S. In lesson number 7 you will find an exercise "Why the light you see in meditation isn't the Atman - and the shocking truth about what you're actually witnessing" You can choose to do that exercise at the end of lesson number 2 or do it when you reach lesson number 7

Lesson Number 3

The Madness of More and Less: The Game That Hides the Self

Shankaracharya says the goal of life is not to increase happiness and reduce sorrow.
That is the goal of animal life — not human life.

The goal of human life is permanent, 100% non-existence of sorrow and unlimited, never-ending happiness — happiness that is not mixed with even a drop of sorrow.

Is that possible?

The King’s Story

Shankaracharya shares a story.

A King built a magnificent kingdom…
He filled it with lush gardens, golden palaces, exotic music, and lakes lined with singing birds.
The air smelled like heaven. Food never ran out. Laughter and pleasure filled the land.

But the King also made a mysterious announcement:

“Whoever finds me in this kingdom — I will give them everything.
The kingdom, my own self, and the hand of my daughter.”

When the gates opened, people rushed in.

But something strange happened.
No one looked for the King.

They were too busy playing with the pleasures.
They tasted the fruit, admired the flowers, bathed in the ponds, listened to the songs… and forgot the mission.

Some even said:

“Let’s enjoy now. We’ll find the King later.”

But one man was different.

He walked past the lakes.
He ignored the dancers.
He wasn’t fooled by the jewels.

He remembered what he came for.

And he found the King.

Just like that — the promise was fulfilled.
The man became royalty. The kingdom became his.

The Garden of Maya

The King is the Self.
The garden is the garden of Maya.

This is not an ordinary story. And you’ll see why.

It teaches you what Maya truly is.

Discrimination: The One Thing That Made the Difference

What was the difference between that one man and everyone else?

Both had consciousness.
Both had Self.
Both had Non-Self — the mind, intellect, memory, and ego.

But one man discriminated between Self and Non-Self.

What did he discriminate?

This is where I want your full attention.

Shankaracharya says:

That which is Non-Self, non-consciousness, is always making you feel the need to increase happiness and reduce sorrow.

Your Atman never says, “Increase happiness and reduce sorrow.”

But your mind does.
It says: Give me more pleasure, less pain.

Your intellect says: Give me more success, less defeat.

Your memory says: Give me more happy moments, fewer disturbing ones.

Your ego says: Give me more pride, more fame, less humiliation.

Your senses say: Show me more beauty, fewer painful things.

But your Self says none of this.

Your Self says:

“Come to Me — I will give you permanent, 100% non-existence of sorrow and unlimited, never-ending happiness that is not mixed with even a drop of sorrow.”

The Madness of More and Less

Why does it say that?

Because this madness of more and less exists not only in this world but in all 14 worlds, up to Brahma-lok.

The wealthiest and happiest person today is no different from the poorest and unhappiest —
Because both are playing the same game of more and less.

They both rely on mind, intellect, memory, and ego — and all of these belong to the Non-Self, constantly chasing the same two poisons: more and less.

How We Know the Game is Endless

When you leave this body, there are 13 more worlds.

In Gandharva-lok, one enjoys 100 times more happiness than the highest joy on Earth.

In Heaven, Indra enjoys 100 times more than the Gandharvas.

Indra’s guru, Brihaspati, enjoys 100 times more than Indra.

In Brahmalok, the beings there enjoy 100 times more than Brihaspati.

Even Brahma himself enjoys 100 times more than all of them.

But here's the truth: All of them are still playing the more-and-less game.

Even Brahma — after 100 years of life (which is 4.32 billion years × 100) —
has to give up his position.

And he knows it.

So he too is caught in the delusion of more and less.

The Real Problem

This madness has destroyed us.

We have occupied every position — from the highest god to the lowest worm.
And yet we are not tired of this game.

We are constantly chasing — like fools — more pleasure and less pain,
Without ever realising that this demand is coming from the Non-Self.

More and less is poison.

Whenever you are indulging in more or less —
Know that the Non-Self is active.

That is the time to discriminate.

Because this game of more and less is what creates the knower —
And ultimately, what destroys us.

What You Must Do

You must wipe out the idea of more and less.

When you do, you will be able to dissolve the knower faster.
And your chances of fulfilling your desires will actually increase — not decrease.

Today we have reached a point where we cannot live with our own mind.

This is why two people cannot live together — because even one person cannot live with their own mind.

And the reason is: this madness of more and less,
Which creates the false knower — and fools us.

The Right Way to Desire

There is no problem with desire — once you have realised the Self.

That one man first found the King — and then the entire garden became his.

Likewise, once you realise the Self,
You can have a few desires fulfilled — there’s no harm in that.

Desire is fine — as long as you don’t see the absence of it as lack.

If you want to buy a home or generate revenue — that is perfectly fine.
But if the absence of the home creates a sense of lack — that is dangerous.

That is coming from the idea of more and less — from your intellect.
And that must be discriminated against.

The Real Secret

This is extremely practical.

Because not only will you enjoy the company of the Self —
Which is 100% non-existence of sorrow and unlimited, never-ending happiness —
But you’ll also have a far greater chance of having your desires fulfilled.

Desires should sit on top of your happiness — not replace it.

Not fulfilling a desire should give you limited pain,
But never take away your unlimited happiness.

Karma and Ignorance

Karma can only give you pain that is destined in your favour.
It cannot give you suffering.

Only ignorance can give you suffering.

And what is this ignorance?

Losing your Self,
And believing in the false idea of more and less —
Which creates the false knower, and brings suffering.

No one can make you suffer except your own ignorance.

The Instant ATM of Vedanta

This knowledge of more and less is a game changer.
In Vedanta, it is called instant spiritual cash.

Like an ATM where you get instant money,
Here, you become instantly free through direct knowledge and discrimination.

For the right person,
Their life can change instantly.

P.S. The Lizard on Pizza Exercise (Dosh Drishti)

Imagine your favourite pizza — hot, fragrant, dripping with cheese.
You’re starving. Every cell in your body says, “I must have it.”

Now place a tiny dead lizard on top of that pizza.

In one second, your attachment disappears.

You didn’t meditate, renounce, or struggle. You simply saw the flaw — the dosh — in it.
That’s called Dosh Drishti — the vision that sees imperfection where delusion saw perfection.

You discovered the defect directly, and in that instant the attachment was destroyed.

That’s how fast false attraction collapses when truth is seen.

Here’s another example.

A man was deeply in love with a woman. He adored her, could not imagine life without her.
Then one day, he learned she had AIDS.

In a split second, all his love disappeared.

What happened?

He was never loving her — he was only liking her appearance and fooling himself in the name of love.

True love never depends on the object.

It comes from within — from the Self.

The moment you apply Dosh Drishti, the spell of Maya breaks.

You see that what you call “love” or “attachment” was only your ignorance wearing a beautiful mask.

And when the mask falls, the mind becomes free.

Remember this:

The lizard on pizza, the lover’s sudden disgust — both are instant lessons in detachment.
You don’t need to fight attachment; just see clearly.

When you see the defect in the object, the object loses its hold.

That is how a wise one destroys attachment — not in years, but in one second.

Class 4:
Your Real Nature: The Swaroop of Bliss Hidden by the Covering

Every human body — despite its limitations — carries God within.

God dwells in you.

Not just Godlike qualities — but Bhagwan Himself resides in you.
He resides in you as the Atman.

This is the most difficult thing to realise.
And if you don’t realise it, Shankaracharya says, you will have to come back again and again into this world.

Why?

Because this body was given to you to realise the God within.

If you use this body only to do karma, then karma — by its very nature — will give fruits: pleasure, pain, and delusion.

And so the body–karma cycle will continue.
You will keep manufacturing new bodies to experience the results of your karma.

It is madness.
We must rise above karma.

What We Really Came Here For

We have not come here to do more good karma and avoid bad karma.

We have come here to discriminate between Self and Non-Self,
to realise the Self,
and in the midst of that, exhaust the karma we came with and liberate ourselves.

Karma is only a means to purify your Antahkarana.
It is not the purpose.

Because karma — by nature — gives fruits of pain, pleasure, and delusion.
And these always require a body.

Without knowledge, we will never escape.

The Power of Association

Shankaracharya says:

"Whatever is our nature, we will eventually make others like us."

A snake, a fox, a lion — will transfer their nature to those around them.

The same is true for us.

If you live in the body, its nature will hijack you.

You will be stuck in birth and death, pain and pleasure.
That’s the nature of the body — it will make you like itself.

Spend time in the mind, and it will make you wander.
It wants more pleasure, less pain.

The intellect? It wants more success, less defeat.
The memory? More happy memories, fewer painful ones.

Why?
Because that’s their nature — and they transfer it to you.

What Do You Want?

You want 100% absence of sorrow and unlimited happiness.

That is the nature of the Atman.
It does not know what sorrow is.

Why?
Because it can’t help it — that is its nature.

The Atman doesn’t say, “I’m mostly happy, but sometimes I feel poor or broken.”
That confusion belongs to the mind.

Even the richest person sometimes feels poor — that feeling is a superimposition of the false knower.

What Is My Nature?

Do a simple visualisation.

Ask yourself:

“What is my nature?” (In Sanskrit, Swaroop)

Then go to the mind, intellect, memory, and ego.

You will see: none of them can give you 100% absence of sorrow or unlimited happiness.
Because they are all Non-Self, and the happiness they offer is always mixed with sorrow.

Even that limited happiness comes from the Self.

Then it becomes clear:

“If I want to know my real nature, I must go to the Atman — and stop confusing myself.”

You are not destined for a mixture of sorrow and happiness.
That is the destiny of the mind, intellect, memory, and ego — not the Atman.

You are the Atman.

Why the Jiva Is Created

Not realising the Swaroop of your Atman is what creates the Jiva — which is nothing but Atman + Upadhi (false covering).

This covering appears when we forget our real nature.

So we come into the world with Atman + knower,
then Aham (ego) is added,
and the source light becomes reflected light, and life continues.

This covering must be removed.

Whatever is happening in your life, your first job is to become very clear about your real nature.

This nature is hidden by the Tamas covering of Maya,
on top of which all seeds of false identity are stored.

This is the causal body.

Restore Dignity in Darkness

Your first job is to restore dignity in darkness.

This madness of chasing more pleasure and avoiding pain is called Moha.

It comes from not knowing your real Swaroop.

We have settled for the Swaroop of mind, intellect, memory, and ego for billions of lifetimes.

Good karma will never end this —
because it never began with bad karma.

It began with ignorance.

And it can end only with direct knowledge.

You are superimposing a false Swaroop on yourself.

When you remove that, you will realise:

Your Atman and Ishwara’s Atman are the same.

Then dignity and pride will return.
You will know:

“No matter what happens in this life, I did what I came here for.”

And once that is settled,
You can add your desires and live freely.

A Story from Shankaracharya

There was an ardent seeker.

He went to a great sage and asked,

“Why did you leave your home at an early age?”

The sage replied,

“I wanted to meet Ishwara.”

The seeker asked,

“Did you meet Him?”

He said,

“Yes.”

“Can you show Him to me?”

The sage said,

“Yes, I can — but first I must know your identity so I can introduce you to Ishwara.”

The seeker said,

“My name is Prakash.”
The sage replied,

“That was the name your parents gave you after you were born.
Tell me — who were you before even that name was given?”

The seeker said,

“I am an engineer. I work for a company.”

The sage smiled,

“That is your profession — something you chose later in life.
But who were you before you became an engineer?”

The seeker added,

“I own a house. I have this body. I’m the father of two children. I hold several educational degrees.”

The sage pressed on,

“Those are all roles and possessions you acquired.
I want to know — who were you before you had a body, before you became a father, before you earned any qualification?”

The seeker paused.

He realised — none of the things he had said represented his Self.
They were all superimpositions on the Self.

The True Identity of “I”

Shankaracharya says:

The “I” is the Self.

When you remove the nature of the mind, intellect, memory, and ego —
You remove the false knower that gives you multiple identities.

You stop jumping between pain and pleasure…
You stop being born again.

There is only one identity for the “I” that is true:

“I am Brahman.”
“I am Sat-Chit-Ananda.”
“I am Nitya-Shuddha-Buddha-Swaroop.”

That is direct knowledge —
Your real Swaroop —
The same that Ishwara has —
And He wants you to know it.

Despite everything going wrong in your life — or right —
This is the only truth that makes you rich in the eyes of God.

A Simple Practice to Restore Everything

All broken relationships…
Fractured health…
Poor bank balance…
Low self-esteem…

All of this can be corrected overnight
when you know your real Swaroop
by doing a simple visualisation:

“What is my real nature?”

Then examine the mind, intellect, memory, and ego…
Then return to the Self.

The Water Example

If you take water in a vessel, what do you notice?

Water is cool by default.

But when you place it over fire, it becomes hot.
Not by its own nature — but because of the heat superimposed on it.

After some time, the water becomes cool again.

In the same way — in your intellect, because of the false knower (Ahamkara/ego) and reflected light,
your bliss is hidden.

And the heat of emotions — pain, pleasure, and delusion — are superimposed.
So you behave opposite to your true nature.

What Maya this is!

The water is cool — but appears hot.
You are bliss — but appear disturbed.

The Final Key

Through discrimination and renunciation,
you will realise that these emotions are not your nature.

If you remember the hot and cold water example in daily life,
you will stop letting karma consume you.

Karma may last 10 minutes —
But in ignorance, it can destroy your entire day.

You are bliss —
Even if you yell from the mountaintop.

Make your mind like cool water.
It is only hot for 10 minutes — not 10 hours.

Keep it in bliss for 10 hours — because that is your real Swaroop.

Don’t wait for karma to point out your mistakes.

Realise the Self.
Remove the ignorance that keeps karma alive.

P.S. The 4.32 Billion-Year Technique

(How to dissolve any trauma instantly and save decades of therapy)

Close your eyes.
Bring to mind one memory that still hurts — a betrayal, a loss, a failure.
Let it appear fully in your waking state. Feel the pull, the emotion, the restlessness it creates.

Now begin to travel inward — through the stages of consciousness:

From Waking → Dream → Deep Sleep → Samadhi → Pralay.

In waking, the mind clings to the event.
In dream, it reshapes the effects into varied forms of pain pleasure or delusion.
In deep sleep, everything disappears — pain and pleasure vanish into darkness.
In samadhi, even the darkness dissolves into pure consciousness

And in pralay, when Bhagwan closes His eyes, the entire universe — time, space, karma, all memories — disappears into Him.

Now take that one painful memory and place it 4.32 billion years back, at the moment of Pralay — when the cosmos itself dissolved.
Watch how instantly the emotion loses its force.
You didn’t suppress it; you simply changed where you placed it.

This is the secret:
Between one memory and another, the Self is always present.
The Self is timeless. The memories belong to time.

When you extend the gap between memories, you allow the Self to shine through.
And when you mentally place a memory in eternity, you step outside the cycle of repetition.

So the next time a painful memory rises, don’t fight it
Ask yourself:

“Why should I place this right next to my current pain — or even five minutes later, or five days later?
Why not place it 4.32 billion years away?”

The moment you do, the memory collapses.
Because what belongs to time cannot survive in timelessness.

That’s Dosh Drishti in action — seeing the flaw, the unreality, the limitation — and letting the Self reclaim its space.

You’ll discover something profound:
Healing was never about changing the memory —
It was always about changing its placement.

Where you place it determines your destiny.
Place it in time — and you suffer.
Place it in eternity — and you are free.

Lesson 5: The Most Expensive Mistake – Forgetting Your Swaroop

This word is fascinating — Swaroop( your real nature)

Let’s dive deep into it. Because this is the most important thing you can ever realise.

Bhagwan Krishna, it is said, when He wakes up, first energises His senses and mind… then sees the covering of Maya and removes it through Vichaar (discrimination of Self and Non Self).

This is the greatest thing to know.

What does Bhagwan know that we don’t? Or rather — what do we doubt, despite knowing?

Bhagwan knows that in this world there are only two things:

Chetan (Consciousness)
Jad (Non-consciousness / Inert matter)

Everything in this world is a mixture of these two.

This is the first lesson we should have learned — even before “A is for Apple” and “F is for Fool”… which we’ve actually become, by not understanding Maya.

So if everything is made up of Chetan and Jad, what must we do?

We must first separate them through discrimination — because they are mixed in everything.

Take a simple example:

You wake up in the morning. You see your body.

Ask:
Am I this body, or am I the one living in this body?

Shankaracharya says —

“If you ask this one question even once properly, you will go further in real spiritual realisation than years of so-called ‘experiences’ others talk about.”

When you wake up and see the body — that body is Jad.

What does it do?

It covers the Atman.

Right there, without any belief or philosophy — you can see that the body is covering the Self.

Even an atheist knows he's not the body — he's the one living in the body.

But what happens?

After birth, you forget.
Though you may know intellectually you're not the body — you're not benefitting.

Why?

Because you never identified the knower of the body and dismissed it.
You let it stay.
So you got no benefit.

This is the key:

Your body covers the Self — your Swaroop.
And what do you need to do?
Discriminate. Say:
“I am the one living in the body — not the body.”

If you don’t, here’s what will happen:

  • The nature of the body becomes your nature.
  • The nature of your mind becomes your nature.
  • The nature of the intellect becomes your nature.
  • And you’ll be forever worried about death, disease, rejection, reputation, victory, and loss.

You'll swing all day in pain and pleasure.

All this — because of one simple mistake:
You forgot your Swaroop.

And when you forget it, a covering of Tamas arises.
This is called Asat Avarana — the covering that makes Existence(SAt) appear as Asat(Non Existence.

Atman’s existence gets hidden.

Then the real foolishness begins.

After that, due to Tamas (ignorance), you become the knower .

This knower is the Jiva. This second covering of the knower is called Abhana Avarana. It hides the Chit
So what happens as a result?

The pure Atman, which is undivided, becomes the knower of the bliss sheath (in the causal body).
And in waking and dream states — it becomes the knower of sun, moon, mountains, mind, names, forms, good, bad — eight billion things.

This is what we’ve become.

So:

  • Sat (Existence) got covered.
  • Chit (Consciousness) got covered.
  • Only Bliss (Ananda) remained visible — but even that was enjoyed ignorantly in deep sleep and missed in waking/dream.

And because Sat and Chit got hidden, we now chase pain, pleasure, and delusion which are manifestations of Bliss— through the mind and intellect — like fools.

This is our story.

This is why Bhagwan Krishna, every morning, energises His senses and mind, and removes the ignorance — before acting.

But how can you remove ignorance?

Only if you are behind it.

Which means:
You must position yourself as the Atman — not the intellect.

Say:

“This world is a mix of Jad and Chetan — so I must begin to separate.”

How?

Start with your body.
This one exercise alone can free you from the problems of the mind.

Example: Patel’s Daughter

Remember Patel from Lesson 2? He had a problem with his daughter.

His mind is filled with how to solve it.

But if he remembers that everything is a mixture of Chetan and Jad, he can begin.

He must say:

“Patel is having a problem with his daughter. This is Jad.”
“But I am not Patel. I am the Self — the Witness — of Patel having a problem with his daughter.”

If he says this daily for a week, 90% of his problem will vanish.

Because he has separated himself — his Swaroop — from Jad.

Note: I used the word “Witness” after two decades. It is sacred. It should be used sparingly. And when you respect that word… you become the Word.

This conversation is educating your Antahkarana that your Swarrop is unaffected by the problems of the knower.
Lets take another example.
Let’s say you’re procrastinating. You can apply the same method.

“Tom is feeling lazy to complete his work. This is Jad.”

“But I am not Tom, nor am I laziness. I am the Self — the Witness — of Tom having a problem with procrastination.”

But remember — this only works when you have sincerely begun the inner work of realising the Self and when you genuinely want to complete the work despite the laziness.

Otherwise, it remains a mental trick — not a real separation from the non-Self.

Now a big question arises:

If Atman is Chetan, how can it combine with Jad?

It cannot.

Which is why Maya must be studied.

Who unites the two?

Ishwara does.

The one who unites Consciousness and inert matter is God Himself — and only He can separate them when the Time comes.

God does that to help us exhaust the karma and at the same time liberate ourselves from this endless cycle of bond of Jad and Chetan.

We are not living in reality — we are living under Maya.

And to be free, we must untie the knot that binds the Chetan to Jad and remove the coverings again and again, until we realise our Swaroop completely and position ourselves as the Atman behind Maya.

Then it becomes simple — like unlocking your door from the inside.

But if someone else locks you in from outside — you're in bondage.

That is what being a Jiva is.

So remember:

  • Only Ishwara can unite Consciousness and matter.
  • Only Ishwara can separate them before Time, if He wishes.
  • This is why you must also pray and receive grace.

Even science cannot escape this. They may find material particles — but the one who unites Chetan and Jad… is Ishwara.

That is what the greatest minds miss.

And it is the costliest mistake of your life:

Not knowing your Swaroop.

When you know it —
You become the Witness, the Sakshi, the one standing behind Maya.

The coverings of Sat and Chit fall away — just like removing your glasses.
Your mind becomes of the Swaroop of your Atman.

There is more to this…
We’ll continue in the next class.

Lesson 6: The Difference Between the Witness and the Knower

What is the Witness?

The Witness is that which does not require any modification to reveal itself.
It is self-revealing — the substratum of every name and form in the universe.

You are that Witness.

But because we have not known our true Swaroop (nature), we have become the Knower from the moment of birth.

This wrong visualization must be corrected.

Two Words That Liberate: Anadi and Anant

There are two words that help you rectify the false notion of the Knower:

  • Beginningless — Anadi
  • Endless — Anant

That which is beginningless and endless is real and ever-existing.
That is the Witness, called Brahman. The same Brahman appears in each of us as the Self (Atman).

That which is beginningless but has an end is ignorance — it appears to exist but is not truly real.
This is Jiva, the Knower — born only out of not knowing the Witness.

That which has a beginning and end, and operates in cycles of appearance and disappearance, is neither real nor unreal. It is indescribable.
This is creation — the world we perceive in waking, dream, and deep sleep.

What Makes the Self Different from Creation?

  • The Self is not created, maintained, or destroyed.
  • It is ever-existing — never born, never dying.

Creation, on the other hand, is born, sustained, and destroyed in cycles.
It is dependent on the existence of the Self.
Creation has pain, pleasure, and delusion within it.
Its base, however, is Brahman.

Liberation Through Right Knowledge

How do we use this knowledge to free ourselves?

Your task is to free the Jiva — which appears real in the Antahkarana (inner mind), but in truth is non-existent.
It only appears to be beginningless, but can be ended instantly through direct realisation.

Imagine you never knew the German language until today, the year 2025.
This means you didn’t know it in 2024, or in 2000, or even before this cycle of creation began.
That’s beginningless ignorance.

But the moment you learn it, the ignorance ends forever.

In the same way, the Jiva can come to know the Atman — its true Self — in 7 days, in a month, or at least in one lifetime.
But instead, it chooses to remain in ignorance for billions of lifetimes, clinging to the body, experiencing sorrow and delight.
This is called Moha — the delusion of Maya.

The Real Cure

The real cure to all problems is this:

Make the non-existent Jiva realise that it is the Atman.

The moment you realise you are the Witness, not the Knower, you destroy billions of years of delusion.

This alone liberates you —
No amount of yoga, meditation, or spiritual practices can do what direct knowledge can do.

Those are preparatory steps.
But liberation happens in an instant.

Clarifying universal Brahman vs. Individual Self(Atman)

To make this clear, we must distinguish between universal Brahman and Atman.

  • Brahman, the Witness, has no modification.
It is the base — self-illuminating knowledge, self-revealing existence, and self-fulfilling bliss.
    It has no sorrow.
  • But to know Brahman, Maya is necessary. So Ishwara through Maya projects this creation so we use it to exhaust our karma and get liberated and then we no longer need Maya and the world

Like a mirror is needed to see your face, the body is needed to know the Brahman.
So when creation happens through Maya, Jiva is born along with Atman.
The Role of Antahkarana
Brahman has no Antahkarana — therefore, there is no confusion in Brahman.
But we are not Brahman yet. We are Atman that exists with Jiva... and our job is to seperate the Jiva from the Atman and unite Atman with Brahman.
Atman comes with the Antahkarana.

It becomes the Knower — and begins to identify with the Bliss sheath, then the mind, then the body, and then the world.

So the confusion begins.

Why There’s Confusion

Atman is always seen in association with:

  • Jiva
  • World
  • Ishwara

But Brahman has no association with any of these.

So even though Ishwara and Jiva are Brahman at their core, the coverings of Maya in Ishwara and Avidya in Jiva cause confusion.

Your goal is:

Separate the Knower from Atman, and unite Atman with Brahman.

The Drama of Superimposition

Atman becomes the Knower through superimposition.
On top of that, thoughts and emotions appear — just like dreams arise over deep sleep.

If you remove the Knower, no thoughts can arise.
No identity can arise.

In the example of Patel —
If Patel removes the thought “I am Patel,” there can be no suffering or ownership over his daughter’s pain.

So the Knower is the problem.

This is Jiva — a false role adopted by Atman.

The Final Solution by Shankaracharya

Shankaracharya says:

Separate the Knower from Atman. Then unite Atman with Brahman.

This is the final solution.

These teachings are rare.
They are not taught by modern gurus, but by the rare ones who have completely dissolved the Knower and become the Witness.

How Realisation is Passed

One Witness can ignite another.

But a Knower can only trigger the Knower in others.

Hence, your Antahkarana must be purified —
because the realisation happens only in the Antahkarana, not in the Atman.

We use the Antahkarana to:

  • Identify the Knower as false
  • Separate it from the Atman
  • Discard the Knower
  • Unite Atman with Brahman

That is the entire game.

The Importance of Visualisation

Every piece of knowledge you gain is for the Antahkarana.

With right knowledge, your mind becomes like a clear mirror — able to reflect the Self.

Wrong visualisation clouds the mind.
Right visualisation purifies it.

What is Upadhi?

Let us go deeper.

If you place a red flower near a clear crystal, the crystal appears red.
Place a yellow flower — it appears yellow.

But nothing has entered the crystal. It only appears so.

This is Upadhi — that which superimposes a false appearance on the Self.

The crystal is Atman.
The flowers are your experiences, tendencies, and identifications.
You become a Knower of this false colour — and suffer for it.

But none of this touches Atman.

Why Human Birth is Special

Shankaracharya says:

Only in the human body can we liberate ourselves by recognising the Witness.

There are 14 other worlds:

  • In Pitra Loka (ancestors’ world), Brahman is seen in a dream. But a dream is unclear and hazy.
  • In Gandharva Loka, Brahman is seen as a reflection on water — shimmering, unstable.
  • In Brahma Loka, Brahman is seen as a shadow — vague, without detail.

But here, in the human body, you can see the Swaroop of Atman in your own Chitta (inner memory)
as clearly as you see your face in a mirror.

This is called Atma-Sakshatkar — direct realisation.

Purifying the Chitta

What is purification?

It is removing the false visualisations stored in your Chitta — wrong ideas about your body, past, future, world, creation, even God.

All of it is nonsense sitting inside as the Knower.

When the Chitta becomes pure, the Sat-Chit-Ananda Swaroop of Atman reflects clearly.

And in that same Chitta, you can visualise Ishwara — with love and clarity.

Without Love for Ishwara, This Will Not Work

Let me say it clearly:

Without love for Ishwara, none of this will work.

Those who think they are “smart” and try to bypass love — let them try.
It leads nowhere.

When you grow in your love for Ishwara,
you will see that Atman in you and Atman in Ishwara are one.

That is when union with Brahman happens.

The Maha Vakya: I Am Brahman

When the Antahkarana becomes pure:

  • You realise: I am not the Knower.
  • You see: I am the Witness — the Atman — untouched.
  • And then: Ayam Atma Brahman. Tat Twam Asi.

This is liberation.

Remember:
All this training is for the Antahkarana, not the Atman.

The “I” here is Atman without the Knower.
Brahman is the Witness — which never had the Knower.

Real-Time Liberation

When this clicks, your mind takes the shape of Satchitananda Ishwara.

You become the Witness in real-time.
Meaning: You can knock off any thought or modification by simply dismissing the Knower and resting in the Witness.

Think about it —
Decades of trauma, guilt, and confusion can vanish in seconds.

That is the power of this realisation.

In the next lesson, we will go deeper into Aham — the root identity that needs to be exposed.

Let this truth settle in your Antahkarana today.

Lesson 7: What is Ahamkara (Ego)?

Review and Foundation

Before every new lesson, Shankaracharya would remind the students to review the previous one.
So remember: your first job is to realise that Atman is mixed with the coverings of Maya.
You did not create Maya — so don’t panic. But it is your duty to remove it.

The Truth of Atman

Brahman is the Witness, and it appears to us as Atman along with Maya.
Atman is S
