To test the grace of God he went to the king’s place. He was received with honour and the king bowed down before him The sage then kicked the kings crown before every one..
The whole palace was shocked and ordered execution of the sage Suddenly Goddess laxmi to protect the sage had a cobra come out of the crown….
Instantly kings behaviour changed and he fell at his feet and thanked him for saving his life
The king invited him to stay in the kingdom.
After few days the sage in the middle of night went to the kings palace and dragged the king and queen out into the streets Goddess laxmi immediately to protect the sage’s reckless behaviour crashed the building in which they were sleeping..
Again the king was in reverence to the sage for protecting his life Few months passed by the sage continued his reckless behaviour but the Goddess protected him through her powers
Then one day the sage plucked a mango from a tree and gave it to the king… That fruit carried the poison of a cobra in the tree which the sage was not aware of
The king ate the fruit..
That night the Goddess appeared before him and said “ The fruits of your previous lifetime has exhausted. I will leave you now”
Next morning the king was in pain and the doctors found out that the mango was poisoned. The kings advisors told the king that the sage had evil intentions and was trying to rule the kingdom Throw him out Sir… they demanded
I will not throw him out for he saved my life twice. But I will exile him out of the kingdom
The sage was asked to leave. As the sage made his way back to the forest he reflected
“ When Goddess Laxmi’s grace was with me even when I had wrong intentions and my actions were wrong everything worked out in my favour…. When I had good intentions and gave the fruit to the king because of lack of grace I was punished.
What is the moral of the story…?
Everyone will have varied and different opinions.
